Planning expert helping local’s fightback second homeowners in Cornwall

Desmonde Associates – a Cornish family business, who specialises in planning and heritage conservation is offering its services to concerned residents losing out on the chance to live and thrive in their communities, due to second homeowners and dodgy developers swiping up vast areas of land and property in the Duchy.

“Our communities are being destroyed by second homeowners and dodgy developers coming to Cornwall and not giving a second thought for locals who are struggling to buy their first home or rental property due to Airbnb’s.

“We will use our extensive knowledge and expertise in Town and Country Planning applications and objections to have these menaces shut down and prevent them from further plaguing our beautiful county.

“We continue to see the obscene way in which the indigenous Cornish people, who are a minority under international law*, are being forced out of the Cornish housing and rental market and it needs to end,” said Adam Desmonde BSc MSc, Managing Director, Desmonde Associates.

The Guardian recently reported, Cornwall has 12,776 second homes and more than 11,000 holiday lets, while 21,817 people were on its housing register, and last year, Cornwall County Council were forced to install emergency one-bed shelters for vulnerable people in Truro and Penzance.

As a former Truro City Councillor and Chair of the Planning Committee, Adam Desmonde and his team in St Agnes are now offering classes and guidance, so that the average person without any previous knowledge can successfully object to planning applications which are destroying their area.

If you are concerned about a proposed planning application for a property or land near you, then please get in touch to see how we can act on your behalf and produce a detailed planning objection.

With Desmonde Associates on your side, and armed with our expert advice, your chance of having a successful outcome is stronger than if you try and go it alone.

If you are interested in attending a class, please register your interest at enquiry@desmondeassociates.co.uk

Any organisations or individuals requiring planning objection advice and assistance are asked to get in touch with one of the team on 01872 554227 or come and see us in our head office at The Old Bank, 48 Vicarage Road, St Agnes, Cornwall, TR5 0TG.

*On 24 April 2014, the UK Government recognised the Cornish as a national minority. This was under the European Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (FCPNM).
